This event is FREE thanks to Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Professional and Continuing Education, From Here to Awesome and the Workbook Project
DIY DAYS - fund :: create :: distribute :: sustain
How do we sustain ourselves as filmmakers and storytellers in this day of shifting film distribution systems? How do we monetize our film and get the word out without studio support? Presented by MassArt, From Here to Awesome and The Workbook Project - DIY DAYS aims to answer these questions with a day of roundtable discussions and workshops: A look at how to fund, create, and distribute and sustain.

Back from podcamp Montreal
First time I went to Montreal and I really liked it! specially the streets full of people until late at night all sitting outside on terraces like in Paris. So many of them in Rue Saint Denis... you don't really have these kinds of places in Boston... maybe on Newberry Street but the setting is way more formal...
This was the fourth podcamp I went to, and actually the first one outside Boston. I went to the three in Boston... The fisrt ever of course was memorable see my video collage of the event.
I think Boston is getting a bit too professional now. I feel that the setting for Montreal was just perfect --small and easygoing but also very well organized. I made some interesting connections, and with people who also speak French!
I did a session in French recorded on Ustream.tv

New Media Expo 2008 Discussion by David Tames
To wrap up New Media Expo 2008, I sat down with Steve Woolf (Epic Fu), Zadi Diaz (Epic Fu), Steve Garfield (SteveGarfield.com), and Walt Ribeiro (Ustream.TV), here's the unedited conversation. Recorded on Saturday, August 16, 2008.
I had originally planned this to be an audio interview, but when Steve Garfield gave me the video he shot video with his N95, it became a video. When I combined his video and my audio, I was impressed that the audio sync drifted less that a frame from start to end. The N95 is an impressive little camera, suitable for minimalist double-system sound with a digital audio recorder as we used it here.
